Simple media uploading tools for websites, developers

July 29th, 2010

Website owners, forum operators, developers:

The one thing we hear the most from you is: give us more tools to integrate media hosting / uploading into our website/forum/application/etc.

We always say our APIs are free, easy, and available here.

We also have APIs for yfrog (Twitter media sharing) here.

But did you know we have a dead simple upload form that you can use. Here’s what it looks like:

Place the ImageShack upload form directly into your website or message board and allow your website visitors to experience the full power of ImageShack’s image hosting. Grab the code here.

In the near future, we are also looking to improve upon that tool and potentially add others to our suite of tools. Please let us know if you have any suggestions. Email us at is-support at imageshack dot us.

Your media is secure

July 12th, 2009

On July 10th, at approximately 7 pm PST, ImageShack’s services were compromised by a hacking group. Within a minute, our security systems had identified suspicious activity. We learned that the group had gained control of how images were being displayed. Before 9 pm PST, normal functionality had been restored to user images. No user data or content was damaged or lost.

Only a fraction of Imageshack’s servers were affected, so we were able to isolate and remove the issue very quickly. We are actively conducting a full audit of our security measures and hardening our systems. If you are experiencing difficulty with any of our services or would like to reach our team directly for any reason, please contact us anytime at ImageShack Support

Deleting Multiple Images

October 24th, 2008

Remove images by clicking on the ‘X’ button (red) next to the image thumbnail you want to delete.

More on image options see: Imageshack Image Options

How to delete multiple images:

1. Click on the images you would like deleted to select them. (you can browse though multiple pages in your account and select images from multiple pages, when deleting all selected image from every page will be processed)
2. Click on “Delete” link in the ACTION menu bar on the right.
3. On the pop-up dialog box click on “Proceed” button to go ahead and delete image or “Cancel” button to cancel.

Images will be taken off the web. No one will be able to see them. For security reasons and to protect our users, we do not delete images from registered users’ accounts. Deleted images are stored in your Deleted Images panel (folder) and are not visible to any one including you. You can chose to undelete an image by going to “Deleted Images” panel and clicking “Undelete” button next to the image you would like to restore. Such a designs lets you undelete an image that you deleted by mistake or restore image, after you deleted it, if you ever need it to and prevents hackers, or issues with software to delete images in your account.
If you chose not to use your account any longer, simply stop using it (and it will be deleted after 6 months) or send us a Technical Support request with subject line: “Remove my account” and we will remove it ASAP.

All images’ references and account information will be deleted from our database and cannot be restored.
